Recently I have been drawing a few animals rock climbing. I love climbing but I can't pay my bill doing it. So it is really nice to get creative with climbing art. While my drawing are mostly just fun cartoon I do make sure that I get things technically correct, no reverse clipping etc. I have drawn sloths, a giraffe, penguin, chimpanzee, goat, fish and octopus rock climbing.  Penguin Rock climbing. This was my first animal rock climbing design. A cute penguin. This penguin is climbing at an indoor gym. The bowline on his climbing rope looks a little loose, I hope this bird can fly.  This design has provent to be my most popular of this series. Probably because people love sloths. This cute sloth is taking it's time on a climb. The sloth has a climbing helmet, harness and rope. Imagine belaying a sloth, it would take all day.  A mountain goat rock climbing. Obviously goats are great climbers and sure footed on rocky cliffs. This one is roped up with a climbing harness on a big wall climb.  This is another rock climbing sloth. This one is aimed more at younger children who enjoy climbing and bouldering. A simple vector sloth with a knitted fabric texture.  You can't do an animal series without a capybara, people love these cute animals. So here we have a capybara rock climbing. This cute rodent is looking confident as it climbs a cliff face with a climbing helmet and harness on.  |  I think a giraffe rock climbing is a really funny concept. They are pretty tall and have no need to scale cliff faces. This giraffe is wearing a climbing harness and helmet.  This is my personal favoroute of this desies. A black and white illustration of a chimpanzee rock climbing. The chimp is pulling a funny face and looking relaxed on a overhung sport climb.  I could not resist making more sloths rock climbing. This one is another black and white design. climbers often hold the rope in their mouth when clipping, this funny sloth has the rope looped around it's tongue. This sloth is hanging from one arm on the steep rock climbing crag.  All these designs are a little silly, but this one is probably the most ridiculous, a fish rock climber. This rock climbing fish is climbing out of the ocean, being belayed from under water.  This is the same capybara climbing but this time it has the text EL CAPY-TAN. A cute capybara climbing El Capitan. Octopus rock climbing, imagine having eight legs / tentacles to help with your climbing. This is what that might look like. |
